Everyday life is truly extraordinary!
Congratulations to the Renwu Incineration Plant for being featured in the CommonWealth Citizenship Sustainability Yearbook. This recognition is a testament to the dedication of all our fellowship and environmental education partners. This project, personally guided by our General Manager, goes beyond ordinary donations, making a meaningful impact in the community and allowing social participation to become our proudest legacy!
As the operator of Renwu Incineration Plant, Onyx Ta-Ho Environmental is committed to fostering community understanding of the plant's functions and value through neighborhood engagement programs, helping local residents rebuild their sense of identity and belonging to their hometown.
Supporting Disadvantaged Students' Meals and Inviting Them to Charity Concerts
Wulin Elementary School serves as a vital hub for community education and care, and is a core partner in Onyx Ta-Ho Environmental's community engagement initiatives. Through plant feedback funds, we provide long-term support for disadvantaged students' nutritional meals, outdoor education, and educational resources. From 2016 to 2024, approximately 30 students benefited from monthly subsidies of NT$3,000, allowing children to focus on learning without worrying about meals.
In December 2024, Onyx Ta-Ho Environmental partnered with Hualien's elementary and middle school panpipe ensemble and The Polar-Light Disabled Percussion Group to host a charity concert at Kaohsiung's Weiwuying, inviting 40 teachers and students from Wulin Elementary School to participate.
Prior to the event, our team conducted environmental education workshops at the school, helping children understand the importance of waste recycling and green initiatives. Through the integration of arts and environmental education, children expanded their horizons and built confidence and agency.
Transforming Community Perception, Co-creating Community Value
Environmental education is a key mission for Onyx Ta-Ho Environmental at Renwu Incineration Plant. Our team carefully designs environmental education programs to share knowledge about waste recycling, incineration operations, and renewable energy with teachers, students, and residents. Community attitudes toward the plant have shifted from skepticism to recognition and support.
Facing challenges of demographic transformation in Wulin Community—including declining birth rates, aging population, youth outmigration, and grandparent-led childcare—Onyx Ta-Ho Environmental recognizes the importance of community cohesion. We actively engage in substantive community participation through various activities and programs, enhancing interaction with residents and building mutual trust.
Onyx Ta-Ho Environmental not only maintains the plant's environmental governance and waste management functions but also promotes intergenerational exchange through education, culture, and community care. The transformation of Renwu Incineration Plant's role represents the tangible results of accumulated community trust, educational equity, and environmental awareness.
