As an iconic pilgrimage in Taiwan, the Baishatun Mazu attracts a large number of visitors every year. While the number continues to grow, the generous food offerings along the route, albeit reflecting the warmth of local culture, lead to a substantial amount of disposable waste.
So this year, we partnered with the Resource Circulation Administration Department (under the Ministry of Environment), working closely with Minister Peng Chi-ming and Director Lai Yin-yin, to promote Waste Reduction at the venue. We encouraged all visitors to:
🌿 Bring reusable tableware
🌿 Carry reusable bags
🌿 Reduce single-use waste
At Veolia, we believe that traditions don’t have to be practiced traditionally, and we are proud to have stepped up to green up the journey of faith in Taiwan.
