Taiwan's first eco-transformed WtE plant to a Green Sustainability Park!

LuTsao 5

We are proud to announce the official inauguration of the Ecological Park at LuTsao Waste-to-Energy (WtE) Plant, a landmark project made possible through a powerful public-private partnership. This transformation of a traditional facility into the Hobaoyu Green sustainability park now features:
🌳 extensive ecological gardens
🧘 wellness facilities
🏊 swimming pool, and serves as Taiwan's first WtE plant-turned environmental education center. 🏫

Following a joint investment by Veolia’s JV Taho, TCC, and Chiayi County Government to upgrade the plant, it has achieved operational excellence:
• 8.1% increase in incineration capacity
• 10.4% improvement in power generation efficiency
• 900 tons of daily waste processing capacity
• Reduced pollution and carbon emissions

The inauguration ceremony was held on September 21st, attended by Taiwan's Premier Mr. Cho Jung-tai, Minister of Environment Dr. Chi-Ming Peng, Ms. Ying-Ying Lai, Deputy Director General Mr. Ken Mu-Chang, and TCC Chairman Mr. Nelson An-Ping Chang.

This pioneering park is a living embodiment of Veolia’s GreenUp principles, accelerating 主題標籤#ecologicaltransformation, advancing the circular economy through WtE processes, and fostering community integration by providing valuable green spaces and environmental education resources for all.
